What is Sterling Silver?

It's an alloy consisting of 92.5% silver combined with 7.5% copper, which strengthens the silver, making it more suitable for durable jewelry. Pure silver alone is too soft for practical use in jewelry making.

Does Sterling Silver Tarnish?

The 7.5% of copper in sterling can oxidize to make silver more prone to tarnishing. Tarnishing is a natural process that cannot be completely prevented, but in nearly all cases silver can be brought back to its original shine simply with cleaning. How often silver needs to be cleaned is based on what it is exposed to. A treated silver polishing cloth is a great way to clean sterling silver.

Why Did My Silver Tarnish?

Tarnish on sterling silver is due to contact with Sulphur compounds; the main cause being traces of hydrogen sulfide gas in the air. Eating foods high in sulfur may cause silver to blacken, as sulfur is secreted through your skin during perspiration. In rare cases the basic body chemistry/ PH of some people can react with the alloy and cause tarnishing. Sterling silver can also corrode on the skin if enough salt is present (ocean water, excessive sweat, hot tubs, pools). Skincare products / cosmetics/ hairsprays/ face washes can also cause quick blackening of sterling silver. To help prevent this products which contain zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, ferric oxide, and calamine should be avoided when wearing jewelry.

What's the Difference Between Processing Time and Shipping Time?

Processing time is NOT the same as shipping time. Processing time is the period it takes for me to craft and prepare your order for shipping. It does not include the transit time, which is the time it takes for the postal service to deliver your order to you after it leaves my hands.

What is Gold Filled? Is It the Same as Gold Plated?

Gold filled is quite different from gold plated. Gold filled items have a much thicker layer of 14k gold bonded to a base metal, making it a superior option that lasts almost as long as solid gold. Unlike gold plated, gold filled does not flake or fade over time.

Sizing Details

The gauge size of our handmade nose hoops are fixed. This limitation is due to the delicate nature of the small stones and crystals we use in our designs, which are carefully selected to ensure the perfect balance of beauty and durability.

For the most accurate measurement, it’s recommended to visit a professional piercer. If that’s not possible, you can measure at home by using a millimeter ruler to measure from your piercing hole to the edge of your nostril. Choose a ring size that is closest to this measurement, or one size larger for a looser fit. Always measure carefully to ensure accuracy.

EXCHANGES: I am unable to offer exchanges due to hygienic reasons. Please ensure you choose the correct size when ordering. If you do make a sizing error, contact me for a discount on a replacement. It’s important to be aware of your required size before placing an order.

Defective Items

If you believe your item has arrived defective, we invite you to contact us within 7 days of delivery with a picture attached for reference to discuss the possibility of a replacement.
